Meet Brian

For 23 years, Brian Chase has represented people during some of the hardest moments of their lives: a divorce, a custody fight, a serious injury. In every one of those cases, someone walks in the door needing an advocate.

Brian’s approach starts from a conviction he learned the hard way, over a long career: litigation doesn’t only test people, it can wound them. Too often he watched clients and families come out the far side of a case more bitter, more resentful, and more hurt than when they walked in, not because of how it ended, but because of what the process itself put them through.

He decided a long time ago that he wasn’t willing to practice that way. Brian fights hard for his clients, but he refuses to set their lives on fire to do it. His goal is to protect what matters, minimize the damage the process can do to a family, and help people come through it able to heal rather than nurse a grievance for years.

That philosophy is what drew him to Truce Law. After two decades running his own practice, Brian joined Truce because its model let him do more of the work he loves, sitting across from clients and actually practicing law, and because its mindset matched a belief he’d already arrived at on his own: that a lawyer’s job is to reduce harm, not multiply it.

Clients tend to describe the experience the same way, that Brian truly saw them, understood them, and went out of his way to help in every way he could. That, more than any single result, is what he’s built his career around.

His favorite quote fits him well: “If you’re going through hell, keep going.”

Brian practices family law with Truce Law, serving clients across western Washington from the firm’s Seattle, Tacoma, and Olympia offices.
